Dr. Sarita Sehgal

Sarita Sehgal is a partnering and development professional with over 20 years of UN, NGO and private sector experience in Europe and Africa. In the last five years, Sarita has combined her development work with coaching and research to design a unique portfolio career. As Managing Director of Sandhi Solutions Sàrl, Sarita provides services to clients such as The Partnering Initiative, UNAIDS, WFP, UNICEF, ICRC, Wellcome Trust and Grassroot Soccer in relation to strategy, communications and partnering for social impact.

 

She also provides careers and executive coaching for leaders of international organizations, NGOs and business school students and alumni. Sarita’s broad and varied experience combined with her solution orientation and passion for personal growth enables her to support a diverse array of clients as they work to reinvent themselves, build meaningful careers and grow their impact.

Over the course of her career, Sarita has advised and worked directly with CEOs, UN leaders, Health Ministers, First Ladies and programme managers as well as youth leaders, human rights activists and vulnerable and marginalized populations. She has conceptualized, brokered, and documented partnerships between UN agencies, governments, business, academia, NGOs and communities to harness multisectoral action across a range of health and development issues. During her 10+ years with UNAIDS, Sarita established a youth fellowship programme and supported governments to design and evaluate their HIV, health and gender strategies in Namibia and South Africa. Prior to the UN, she worked in strategy, marketing, and research for Richemont International, L’Oréal and the International Organization for Migration.

A former professional ballet dancer, Sarita recently completed her PhD on commitment in cross sector partnerships at the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business (GSB). She also holds a BA from UC Berkeley, a MA from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, an MBA from INSEAD and an ICF accredited coaching certification from New Ventures West via the GSB Centre for Coaching. Sarita lives between Geneva and Cape Town, is married with two children, and enjoys nature, dance and the study of ancient Indian philosophy.
